Exhaustion has already set in...

Is it 2008 yet? Why is it that September through December are such a blur each year, overbooked beyond belief?
  • one family trip down, two to go...
  • one business trip down, two to go...
  • too many birthdays to count, including last night's extravaganza at Planet Pizza (but at least the adults outnumbered the kids two to one)...
  • one Horizon UU service auction and dinner to co-chair...
  • one week of loving grandparents visiting just ended and a week with the other set just starting (really glad to see them ALL but it is part of the whole whirlwind)...
  • one eight-year anniversary coming up (where does the time go -- been a couple the better part of 19 years)...
  • one Lean Six Sigma Black Belt project to finish and it'd better save over $250K next year...
  • Halloween and Thanksgiving plans to make (and T-day's at home this year, yippee!)
Don't get me wrong -- I'm not feeling sorry for myself (other than the lack of sleep) -- how lucky we are to have so many people who love us in our lives, and the resources for travel, and so many wonderful opportunities at work, and a church community that is so warm and welcoming, but geez -- could we space this out a little better throughout the year? Or maybe move to a monastery each fall?

On the upside, it's now officially my favorite season, even if the weather is not cooperating quite yet. So happy Autumn to you all, and if you have the chance, take a nap for me.
